Contestant Left Out of Top 12 due to scoring error

A contestant competing for the title of Miss Gay United States was left out of the Top 12 due to human error in tabulation.

In a statement posted Saturday, November 14, 2020 on Facebook by owner of Miss Gay United States J.P. Gulla the statement read: “After the competition was over, I posted the score sheets as I always do, and this morning is when I was alerted and discovered the error. I am so sorry. We all deserve our chances to shine and this error took that opportunity away from a beautiful and talented entertainer.” Said Gulla

Kourtnee Pope-Kollins the reigning Miss Gay Carolinas United States from Charlotte, North Carolina was not called into the Top 12. “J.P. Gulla thank you for doing this. It really means a lot because some people would have brushed the issue under the rug” said Kollins

The Miss Gay United States pageant took place on Thursday, November 12, 2020 and Friday, November 13, 2020 in Roanoke, Virginia. A total of twenty-three contestants competed for the pageant with categories in Interview, Americana, Evening Gown, Talent, Question & Answer.

Sabrina White former Miss Gay America won the pageant becoming the newest National Title Holder.
